Serafina by the Water trades on exactly what its name promises: a riverfront terrace in Victoria Park that makes for one of the more romantic settings in Fort Lauderdale, especially after dark. This is the kind of place you book for an anniversary or a date you want to go well, with a quiet, relaxed feel that doesn't rush you through dinner.
The Italian menu leans polished rather than adventurous, with pasta dishes like bolognese drawing consistent praise, along with starters such as calamari, breaded mozzarella, and burrata. Seafood shows up too, with branzino getting singled out by regulars. Portions and freshness seem to be a strength, and there's real affection for this kitchen among repeat customers.
It isn't flawless. Service gets mixed reports, warm and attentive for some tables, noticeably less so for others, and at least one diner flagged stale bread and inconsistency with a special. Prices sit at the higher end for the neighborhood, which is easier to justify on a special occasion than a casual weeknight. Dog-friendly seating on the terrace is a nice bonus if you're bringing a plus-one of the four-legged variety. Go for the setting and the pasta, and keep expectations for service flexible.
