I moved to Fort Lauderdale and did what most people do: asked around, scrolled through Yelp, and ended up at a lot of mediocre places recommended by algorithms that had no idea what they were talking about.

Fort Lauderdale has a genuinely great food scene. Waterfront restaurants that earn the view. Neighborhood spots on Wilton Drive and Flagler Village that locals protect like secrets. Steakhouses and raw bars and hole-in-the-wall taquerias that would be famous if they were in Miami.

The problem was finding them. There was no go-to guide. Nothing curated, nothing local, nothing that felt like it was written by someone who actually lived here and cared.

So I built one.

FTLeats organizes Fort Lauderdale's dining scene into 17 areas that reflect how locals actually think about the city, rather than official city planning boundaries.

FTLeats covers Fort Lauderdale, from Las Olas to Oakland Park to the beach. To map the whole city from the start, the guide is built on data, gathered and organized automatically, then sorted by area and by vibe so you can search by the night you're planning, not just the cuisine.

That foundation is a fast, automated starting point, and it will not stay that way. The human layer comes next: my own notes on the places I know, and comments from locals who eat here too. Automated now, more personal over time.
