MAASS

Ryan Ratino

Executive Chef & Owner

Ratino is one of the youngest chefs in the country to hold two Michelin-starred concepts at once, one star at Bresca and two at JÔNT, both in Washington, D.C. MAASS is what he built when he brought that kitchen south, and it opened as Fort Lauderdale's first Michelin-starred restaurant. The whole space is organized around an open-fire hearth: dishes finished tableside, built to be watched as much as eaten.

The dry-aged duck

Slow-roasted, carved and presented tableside, plated with kishu mandarin, burnt sweet potato, espresso bean, and foie gras sausage.

Why FTLeats picked them

He's the one chef here nobody in Fort Lauderdale grew up watching come up through local kitchens, and that contrast is worth being honest about instead of writing around it.
